Opinion: Michigan’s auto insurance reforms are working

Michigan is a little more than a year into a historic change to its auto no-fault system. On July 2, 2020, Michigan drivers finally got a choice. For decades, drivers were forced to purchase unlimited, lifetime medical benefits whether they needed them or not — and whether they could afford them or not. For the first time in 50 years, they can choose a level of medical coverage that’s best for their family and their budget.
